Labor Day Weekend, Saturday

Off to a slow start, but nice weather this afternoon. Went to West Stow park and found this carving in an overgrown field. Is this the secret link to Easter Island?

London Trip

Off to Portobello Market, self proclaimed biggest antique market in the world? Millie got to ride the subway "the tube" there.

A short walk from Notting Hill station to the market, admiring the mansions on the way.

We've arrived.

The little things in life!

Some things can't be found in England, here's our new lazy susan to organize the kitchen spices, straight from the US of A. Thanks Mom!

In the Garden

Millie and Papa enjoying a sunny Saturday afternoon. Picture shot on a 40-50 year old yashica-mat and developed in the Coombes darkroom, aka the bathroom. Apologies for the dust specks, didn't photoshop it after scanning...

Saturday Excursion

The weather was forecast to be good this morning, so off to the owl and raptor sanctuary near Cambridge. On the drive there, contrary to the "Official" UK met office weather forecast, it clouded up and started sprinkling. The hardy Coombes', in their short sleeves, continued forth. Fortunately, fleece vests were stored in the stroller...

Millie getting into the spirit of the event:

Mom and Millie enjoying the Falcon display, you can get pretty close to the birds!

Time for the flying display, unfortunately it was cut short because of a massive downpour. An owl flew so close to Millie's face, its wing actually left a red mark on her cheek! The owl below was large enough to carry her off, so we should consider ourselves lucky.

New Bed!

Millie's growing up even more, last night we put her new bed together. Not sure how she would do, as she can get out whenever she wants now. Fortunately, Millie likes her sleep more than we do, and has been sleeping soundly.

Another Lazy Weekend

Here's Millie enjoying the weekend, now that's she is 2, turning into a real rascal:
